It looks like you get numbers first, then uppercase usernames then lower
case usernames. That's the normal Java collation sequence for Strings. If
you want to ignore case then you have to do something like:
SELECT lower(loginname),users.* FROM USERS ORDER BY 1
Or have I misunderstood the problem?

Gentlemen,
We have a problem with the ORDER BY functionality. The resulting list is
devided into two ordered pices.
The our database is attached.
Plz, execute SELECT * FROM USERS ORDER BY LOGINNAME to get this bug. You
have to see the ordered list from "33" to "Tyler Noyes" and from "a" to
"|fdiallo|".
We tested it with InstantDB 3.13 and 3.14 beta 7.
