Dear Simba,
I'm aware that you built something for Unify that may be along these
lines. But do you have a general ODBC client which can talk with a JDBC
database such as InstantDB, Cloudscape, Pointbase, QED, and FirstSQL/j?
There are a number of developers who have asked about and are interested
in using Windows (Visual Basic, Access, Delphi, and Visual Foxpro)
front-ends to one of these Java-based databases.
If not, could this be done using your engine toolkit and one of the
following?
Dan Adler's Java COM Bridge: http://users.rcn.com/danadler/jacob/
IBM's Bridge2Java (ActiveX):
http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/bridge2java
Sun's J2EE COM Client Bridge:
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/earlyAccess/j2eecas/
(requires JDC login)
Many thanks!
Regards,
Richard Katz
