Can someone, maybe from Lutris, clarify this problem (see previous emails on
the DatabaseMetaData.getTables method throwing an exception when the
database name contains a hyphen)? Are hyphens prohibited in database names?
What about table names, etc.?
Finally, if hyphenated database names are prohibited, what are the chances
of getting InstantDB to detect this upon connection to the database, and
throw an exception then, instead of proceeding as if nothing is wrong until
certain JDBC methods are invoked?
As I said earlier, I'm very sorry if this is documented somewhere: I
couldn't find it in the docs, but that doesn't mean it's not there. If
allowed characters for database object names are mentioned somewhere, I
would love for someone to tell me where, so I can document this for our
product.
Best Regards,
Bill Graham
