Compile the sample ?? You don't have to compile anything to install it. 1. Set
you CLASSPATH right, remember
idb.jar,idbexampl.jar & idbf.jar.
what version are you running ?if it's 3.13 - 3.14b3 (b3 I know) you can run
sample, In 3.14b7 you have to write ScriptTool
instead of sample.
You don't have to do this if you don't want to use the examples: only the
idb.jar are needed, the idbf.jar holds functions called rowfunc in the
syntax.html, but try reading the doc's.

did you compile the sample before you tried to execute it?

Subject: InstantDB: problems installing instantdb
the instructions for installing instantdb do not work.
part one is ok and the 3 directories ( classes, examples, functions ) get
created.
however when i run "java -Xms16m -Xmx32m sample", no other directories get
created and i get various compile time errors including some which appear to
indicate that classes are not in the correct packages.
any suggestions?
thanks
