I've heard of similar problems before. Usually the answer is one on the
following:
a) CLASSPATH error (I know - but it does happen);
b) Permissions - try setting all the InstantDB files and directories to
world write (I'm not suggesting you do that for production of course - just
to see if it's a permissions problem).
