The latest alpha of Enhydra Enterprise is available!
Enhydra Enterprise Alpha 2 includes the following J2EE [TM] APIs: Servlet,
JSP, JNDI, EJB, JTA, and JDBC.
New features in Alpha2:
One of the key drivers of this release is that each service is now packaged
in a separate JAR file. This release also includes the following new
features:
1) JMX support - JMX control at the Service level, visible through the Admin
Servlet
2) DODS has a new GUI (thanks to Merlot/ChannelWave. )
3) The EETest sample application now includes a simple entity bean and uses
InstantDB as its database, and has a JNDI->XML browser servlet to let you
look through the server namespace with an XML-enabled browser (such as IE5)
4) Initialization settings are now centralized in the file
/bin/bootstrap.conf. This file replaces numerous files used in alpha1 (e.g.
jonas.conf).
Upcoming Feature Status:
The following list summarizes features that are targeted and in process but
not yet implemented:
* Java Messaging Service (in CVS, not built into this release)
* JavaMail/JAF
* Security: support of roles, permissions configuration, security context
* Classloader/namespace per service jar
* Initialization and Deployment, RMI-IIOP, Enhydra Logging, & Session
services
* HTTP 1.1 from Jigsaw, and an update to the Web container to Tomcat 3.1
