InstantDB: Re: Problem with BOOLEAN

Gerhard

Thanks for reporting this. This is a known problem which will be fixed in
the next release. The only work around at the moment is to use setString
rather than setBoolean.

Regards

Pete

Subject: Problem with BOOLEAN

Hi,

I'm evaluating InstantDB for our new product and it seemed to work really
fine until I tried to write a boolean value using a prepared statement.
There I got the following exception:
java.sql.SQLException: java.sql.SQLException: Column
emailAddressVerified cannot accept value false

Ich tried to verifiy it using your testClient-example.

I thought, that the InstantDB-JDBC-Driver would handle the casting from the
boolean to the in the DB used internal datatype, because we can't adapt our
code because we also have to run with any other database.

I include the adapted testClient.java and a zipfile with the database

 <<TestClient.java>> <<InstantDB.zip>>
I use Windows NT 4.0 SP5, Sun Java 1.1.8, and a simple editor for editing
the java-files.

Hope you can help me.

Thanks & regards

i. A. Gerhard Hönig
